In addition to the young plants from the classic berry fruit, we are able to offer fruit tree young plants for the first time starting in the spring of 2019. At the start, our assortment only contained pome fruit. All varieties offered by us come from the innovative breeding lines of our sister company Lubera®. These varieties have been specially bred and selected for the demands in the home garden. They are characterised by a very good flavour, superior health and partly by an extremely compact or slim growth habit.
Breeding apples at Lubera®
Our complete apple assortment comes from the breeding programme of our sister company Lubera®. Apples have been bred at Lubera® for over 25 years. The breeding goals are obvious. The varieties should not only taste better and have a significantly higher plant health than standard varieties, they should also be easier to cultivate and thus facilitate the home gardener's work. Due to the intensive and long breeding work, we are now in the fortunate position to be able to offer many different colours of apples with distinct ripening times and growth forms.
Redlove® apple tree young plants
Redlove® apples bring pure exoticism into the home garden. Due to the pink flowers in combination with the dark shoots, this group is already an eye-catcher even without fruits. But the real peculiarity is the distinctive, red flesh. The apples are well suited for both eating fresh and processing into juice, as the red colour persists even after processing. The Redlove® varieties grow up to be a classic apple tree.
Era® - A medium-sized, dark red apple with a firm and crisp texture. The taste is very balanced between sugar and acid. The plant is weak growing and extremely fertile.
Calypso® - A small to medium-sized, dark red apple and the most aromatic Redlove®. The texture is very firm but also very juicy. The plant has a weak to medium strong habit, good branching and it is resistant to scab.
Paradis® apple tree young plants
Paradis® apples are the apple trees for the home garden. These are normal-growing, branching apple varieties with the highest quality standards. The varieties are extremely healthy and usually scab resistant. The fruits have a superior taste and are characterised by a very good shelf life. As varied as the flavours are, so diverse are the varieties.
Werdenberg® - An early ripening summer apple with medium-sized to large fruits, which are flamed orange-pink. At the time of harvest, the apples have a sour taste with lots of sugar in the background, which becomes sweeter. The plants have a relatively compact habit and they are resistant to scab.
Patrizia® - A medium-sized apple with a golden yellow colour, backed by a green shimmer. The taste is characterised by a high sugar content, coupled with good acidity. The plant has a moderately strong habit, it is well garnished and also resistant to scab.
Sparkling® - A medium-sized to large apple with red stripes and a sweet/sour taste. With increasing maturity the sweetness becomes more and more dominant. Rough cells with strong cell walls give the apple a tingling texture. The plant has medium growth and is resistant to scab.
Elegance® - A medium-sized to large autumn apple. The apples are high-built and streaky coloured. In a late harvest, the surface of the apples has a blurred red colour. The taste is refreshingly sweet and aromatic. The plant has a medium growth habit with an even crown and it is resistant to scab.
Myra® - A medium-sized apple with high-built fruits that are pink-striped, intensely sweet and aromatic in taste. The plant has a medium growth habit and it is resistant to scab.
Maloni® apple tree young plants
The Maloni® apple varieties are miniature apple trees with a bushy habit and they do not require any pruning measures. When fully grown, the plants will not reach a height of more than 150 cm. Thus, these varieties are only about half the size of a normal apple tree on a weak growing rootstock. All of the Maloni® varieties are resistant to scab and have an excellent taste due to their line of descent from the Paradis® varieties.
Sally® - A small to medium-sized, bright red apple with a balanced ratio of sugar and acid. This variety is resistant to scab and can be stored well.
Lilly® - A medium-sized, pink-coloured apple. It is very sweet and not susceptible to powdery mildew.
Gullivers® - The most compact apple in this group; it reaches max. 1 m high and has good branching. The fruits are small to medium in size and have a refreshingly juicy taste with enough sweetness. This is a good autumn apple that is resistant to scab.
Malini® apple tree young plants
Malini® apples are extremely slender columnar apples. So that our columnar apples do not grow into the sky, they are grafted onto a moderately vigorous rootstock. As a result, the plants later need a stake in the home garden, but they thereby also bear fruit faster and the fruits are more uniform. Basically, the Malini® varieties are classified into two growth classes. First, the human-sized varieties with a growth height of up to 200 cm and on the other hand, the hedge-high varieties with a growth height of up to 300 cm. At the start, we only offer varieties from the group of human-sized Malini® apples. However, the assortment will also be expanded.
Pronto® - has medium-sized, round fruits that taste aromatic and sweet and have a firm texture. With its weak to moderate growth, it is one of the weaker Malini® varieties. This summer apple variety is resistant to scab.
Subito® - is a summer apple with medium-sized to large, pink-orange fruits. The apples are very juicy and convincing due to their full-flavoured aroma which is backed with lots of sweetness. The plant has a weak to medium growth habit and it is resistant to scab.
Pears from Lubera®
In addition to the diverse apple assortment from the exclusive Lubera® breeding, we are also able to offer exclusive pear varieties from our sister company, available at pleasing heights as well. These varieties are compact growing varieties of the Pironi® series and a columnar growing pear variety from the Pirini® series. All of the varieties come from the English breeding institute 'East Malling'. Due to the genetic compactness, all varieties are grafted onto a seedling rootstock.
Pironi® pear tree young plants
The Pironi® pears are bushy and well-branched varieties that form a round, well-distributed crown even without pruning measures. Pironi® pear trees only grow about 170 cm high after 25 years.
Joy of Kent® - has small to medium-sized, russeted fruits. The fruits have a melting texture with a good pear aroma and a slight, pleasant acidity. The plants have an extremely compact habit, which is more broad than high.
Little Sweety® - has medium-sized, green fruits that are not russeted. The fruits have an extremely melting texture and can already be eaten crisp. The variety is characterised by its compact, slightly apical dominant growth, resulting in a beautiful crown shape that is more tall than wide.
Pirini® pear tree young plants
The Pirini® pear is also a compact-growing variety; however it has clear apical dominance. As a result, the plants grow as a beautiful, slender column and they will only reach about 200 cm high after 10 years.
Myway® - has medium-sized to large fruits, which are yellow when ripe. The fruits have a fine, light but pleasant grainy and very juicy texture. The taste is juicy and sweet with a good aroma; even when they are fully ripe they have a fine acidity.
